Our Story
Firstly, thank you for making your way to my online store. I'm so thankful that you've made it this far.
My name is Caitlin, and I have an amazing partner named Matt. We have two beautiful sons named Hudson and Beauden, and here I am navigating my way through motherhood with two toddlers!
A bit about me: I've always been a creative person, and this shows in all the jobs I've had. I've worked in product management, where I was part of a team creating products that were sold in hardware chains, and I worked as a makeup artist on weekends. I've previously started two businesses in the cosmetic industry, and I've learned a lot from my mistakes and successes with both of them.
So, how did I land here? My previous job took me overseas, and I remember going to a factory and being absolutely fascinated with the laser technology they had. My love and passion started there. I purchased my laser in 2021, a few months prior to the birth of my first son. With hope to start something through my maternity leave, time slipped away, and before I knew it, I was back working and hadn't really progressed anywhere with my business. I soon found out I was pregnant again, and along came my second son at the end of 2022.
I found myself at a crossroad, as to whether I wanted to return to full time work, or be a stay at home Mum. The universe works in funny ways, and I was soon offered a redundancy from my role. It was the sign I needed that I was exactly where I needed to be for my family.
The next day, I registered my business and The Detailed Edit was born.

This is my second purchase from Caitlin. Initially I found her store on Etsy and loved her products so much. The abstract round was advertised as a smaller size but on request, Caitlin was able to make it larger for me. Caitlin sent several proofs of both items and collaborated with me to create the final products. Her customer service and attention to detail are to be admired and I will no doubt purchase again from her store.

I’ve been searching for an Easter basket for my kids egg hunt for a while and was thrilled when I found this one. It’s beautifully made, sturdy and a generous size. Very good quality and quite affordable. You must get the little tags to go with it, so cute!
